Featured on PROpenMic?

This week I joined PRopenmic and I love it! It is an amazing way in which you can get in contact with several public relation professionals. Something that I really like is that the site is set up a lot like facebook is set up.  This is wonderful because it looks like something that I am already very familiar with. This makes the application a lot more appealing. You are able to choose your own background and picture and make it your own. Check out my page:  mikelleliette 

I also love the fact it is strictly professional. I enjoy facebook, but facebook is not professional. There are areas in which you can get professional, but for the most part facebook is used for pleasure. However, with PRopenmic, you are only interacting with professionals and students that are pursuing the same thing that I am.

Another thing that I enjoy about PRopenmic is all of the connections that you can begin to have within the public relations world. I have already become friends with several professionals. This will be an important aspect in getting a job in public relations. Networking is one of the most influential ways in starting a career. Within PRopenmic, you are able to search for public relations practitioners. There are pages and pages of members that are practicing the career of public relations. This is such a wonderful connection for me, as a public relations student. I am in communication right now with a public relations practitioner that is from Ohio, where I am from. I am going to be able to interview her this week over the phone and hear more about the professional world of Public Relations.

I have been very impressed with propenmic. and I have only been a member for a few days. I think that it is definitely going to benefit me right now, but also in the future as I am searching for different internships and careers in the world of public relations.
